Name: Sven Wenzeslaus (Wen-sayz-law)
Nickname: N/A
Age: 22
Gender: Male
Body type: 5'8 and slender
Hair/eye color and style: Dark brown with an obvious tint of red; modernized Caesar cut (mid-length) that he textured himself. Eyes are auburn (mid-brown color).
Clothing and Style: Forest green, long, tailed over-coat with other simple attire such as a black long-sleeve shirt half tucked into a belted pair of brown-black pants. While he tends to keep the rest of his clothing decently clean, his well built boots are noticeably travel worn.
Personality: Tends to be ignorant of other people and their desires, as he most often just sees others as a tool for his own means. His actions and outward personality switch depending on how he thinks it would affect the outcome of a situation, though he is not very tactful or strategic. Sven likes to take the more direct, brute-force, route than dance around the fire so to speak.
Backstory: An only child, Sven was given a bit of special treatment for the early years of his life. His parents have an anti-psychic mindset and greatly supported the Blockers, which led to problems when he discovered his talent. The Wenzeslaus family was originally from Earth, spending the first few years of Sven's life trapped in the Metropolis until they were brought to the Moon by a stroke of luck; according to the parents. Often they were robbed and the like from other psychics, as the two adults hadn't developed any sort of ability in their time on Earth as a young couple.
The Blockers were interested in this development, keeping an eye on the family as well as giving them a decent start for a life on the Moon. The boy played with his power in the security of his room from the age of 12 and up. The more he experimented the more he desired to show his parents how wonderful being a psychic was, as well as to possibly show off to other kids around the area. Sven started acting up, desiring to show off his ability and prove his superiority over the normal people but also feared what kind of consequence would await him if a Blocker happened by. With his constant uprising disobedience, he caught his mother's eye. Crying, she accused him of being taken over by the psychic energies, knowing that he could not be the child she had raised.
Sven took this badly. Upset with his mother he stormed out, muttering and ranting as he went down the street. Upon making it back to his room via sneaking in he was still ranting; whispering of plans that he actually had no intention of implementing. To his surprise he found Blockers waiting for him. He panicked and activated his power while simultaneously spinning on his heel to flee the house. It was this moment he discovered his limitation of not being able to freeze more than he could handle. Instantly he blacked out, the person he tried to freeze feeling nothing but a chilling sensation throughout his body. The young teen was taken to the Penal Colony, as with the display of instantly blacking out they figured he couldn't have that much experience with his ability thus should be an easy containment and possible experiment option.
Unfortunately for the Blockers they discovered he had no increased cognitive action or anything else that even suggested he had telepathy, telekinesis, or any other common psychic ability. In fact, other than verbal plots this boy seemingly had nothing to do with any psychic. They relayed this back to his parents and they, thinking the Blockers had just done some sort of rehabilitation, eagerly pleaded for their boy back.
Returned to his parents after little under a year, Sven had a certain hatred for them for doing such a thing to him. He kept mostly to himself and his attitude toward them was still cold most of the time as the two attempted to make up for their 'mistake'. His life continued with very few accidental incidents until he was able to travel on his own legally without suspicion.
Sven made arrangements to leave home for Earth, while telling everyone else Mars. The day he was to leave, his parents awaiting him in the morning out the door of the house, he went down and greeted them a bit strangely. He gave an excuse to leave them as if he had forgotten something and then disappeared around the building. In fact he had bolted, and when he was what he deemed a good distance, released a space he had been holding in the house. Seemingly out of nowhere, the side of the home exploded, breaking the wall of the next building as well. His parents were flung by the shock wave but over all safe from major damage. Sven had lit a match earlier, letting the flame spread across a page then froze it. He removed the scorched page and disposed of it, the visible flame disappearing while its heat energy remained. Then he laid a bowl of explosive mix in the space. Of course, it had been done in a place the parents wouldn't see in the morning, and when he released the energy of the flame from the space the fire sparked to life for only a second hitting the mix.
The young adult immediately left for his flight to Earth with another psychic. He wasn't sure whether his parents would assume him dead or resume their suspicion from years back that he was a psychic and alert the Blockers, but he didn't really care.
Family: His parents live middle-class on the Moon.
Motivations: Thrill of risk and danger. Is dead set against Blockers.
Special abilities: Energy Paralysis (explained below)
Strengths/Weaknesses: Doesn't have many material attachments and tends to use people for his own gain. Doesn't have much skill in fighting, tending to use his abilities for cover and then fleeing when possible; though he does know how to do basic hand-to-hand defence.
Quote: Impressive isn't it?
Explanation of Energy Paralysis:
Expends own will and energy to 'freeze' a 3D space within sight. The space is robbed of all forms of energy and encases the space in a sort of void. Other objects may enter the space and be unaffected. Objects entering after the instantaneous time of effect may move 'frozen' objects by applying energy (force) without resuming the 'frozen' objects past energy. If the object is just 'tapped' while in the space it would continue with the newly applied force as if in space free of gravity.
If objects are removed from the space before the energy is 'unfrozen, then when the space resumes the removed objects energy will be released and added to whatever is currently in the space.
Only similar energies will merge when the space is freed. Heat -> Heat; electricity -> electricity; force -> force; etc.
No energy can be added to the frozen aspect of the area, nor can it be taken away. As well, the contained energy cannot exceed the users own energy. By implementing the energy paralysis one is using their own personal reserve thus cannot exceed this reserve without causing immediate harm to their mind. Added to this is the possibility of 'freezing' an animated/sentient being. Due to the vast amount of energy that every body of every living organism contains, it is almost impossible to contain such a being without expending the user. Exceptions to this are very small animals and bugs such as birds, rodents, and small lizards.
