Andi, a young Blocker grunt, is given a new assignment as the bodyguard of the son of a Blocker Commander, Art. The family has recently been threatened by DetaB.
Andi and Art quickly become friends and Andi even tries to help her new charge get the attention of a girl he likes. Unfortunately Art gets rejected.
Later, a DetaB psychic named Phoenix breaks into Art's house and kidnaps Art. But he hadn't been expecting Andi to be there, so he took her as well. He took them on his ship and they made their way to the DetaB space station.
Unbeknownst to the two young teens, there was another psychic, Shadina, on board to keep an eye on things. Shadina only revealed herself when they stopped at a refueling station for pizza and fuel.
While eating, Shadina has a few telepathic conversations with Art and Andi, and Phoenix has a few doubts about whether Andi and Art will ever be able to return to Mars, since the reason for the kidnapping was to try and stop the continuation of a mysterious Blocker project. However, Phoenix is sure that the Blockers will refuse to cooperate, even with Art and Andi in DetaB's custody, and is worried that he may be forced to hurt Andi and Art.
At this point the thread moves into the 'Open Space' board and is renamed 'Kidnapped...now what?!'
Phoenix, Art, Andi and Shadina are now back on the ship and headed towards DetaB
