"Now? Really!" Luke said with enthusiasm
"But it'll still take a few days to cross the Ruined City even on your cruiser"
Another question popped into Luke's head. One that really bugged him so much that he had to ask it right away.

"Sure that would be a great help" Luke was excited that he was going to have a travel partner. He was certainly going to appreciate his new friend's presence. But he had to ask something to ease his mind.
"It doesn't bother you that we're eventually going to face the most power psychic ever known?"
"Not really" Mike said nonchalantly
Man this guy really doesn't have a care in the world. You could tell him the Earth will explode in a couple of days and this guy probably wouldn't panic or flinch. He'll certainly make this trip a lot more interesting. Not only that but his power will sure come in handy, thought Luke realizing that he might need more people to complete his task.
"Well shall we get going then" Luke asked

"Screw the waiting lets go now!" Luke shouted as he jumped aboard the cruiser. He was eager to get going. The sooner the better.
"Ok, jeez hold your horses" Mike yelled trying to get the cruiser moving.
The cruiser started strolling down the dirt path toward Metropolis. About half an hour into their trip they started to feel a rumbling on the ground underneath them.
"Do you feel that?" Mike asked turning to Luke
Luke nodded his head "Whats making that?"
Suddenly a stampede of mutated bulls came into view behind them. Their iron tusks ready to smash whatever came in their way.
"You just had to ask" said Mike

"Oh crap" Mike said in a monotone voice.
"well can we out run them?" Luke asked
"don’t think so. we need to do some crazy stuff. hang on man!" Mike said as they dived into the ruins. some of the Bulls fallowed them into the smaller pass that was the ruins.
the buildings flashed past them as they raced through the city. some of the bulls crashed into walls and such but some where right on their tail.
"hold on to something!" Mike yelled out. suddenly the vehicle slowed down and turned into a ditch that was an old wash. some of the bulls crashed into the walls after the turn. "what was that!" Luke called out.
"and old racing technique." Mike said as they continued through the wash.
"How many do we still have on us?" Mike said
"bout 5" Luke said.
"ok i got an idea." Mike said
"what are you planning?" Luke said as he noticed the speed increased.
"see that rock? hold on tight its going to be a crazy jump!" Mike said looking serious.

This guy is nuts! First diving into the narrow ruins to avoid the bulls, then taking a turn by making them go almost completely sideways and now hes going to risk our lives in a 25 foot jump! Though Luke knew it was the only way, he really had to give props to this guy. He certainly has guts thats for sure. And he would rather risk that jump than those menacing bulls behind us, Luke thought taking a quick look behind him at the raging animals. They sure look fierce.
"Get ready!" shouted Mike
Luke held on to one end of the cruiser with all the gripping power he could muster.
"Here we go!" yelled Luke
Whoosh! Was all Luke heard as they went high into the sky
"Yeeehaawwww!!!" Mike screamed excitedly
Slam! The cruiser landed with a large thud. Luke turned around just in time to see the rest of the bulls fall of the rock and scatter.
"Serves you right thinking you can catch me!" shouted Mike pumping his fist at the bulls off in the distance behind us.
What Luke saw when he turned back around made him turn pale.
"Watch out!" yelled Luke as he pointed at the massive wall they were heading directly for.
"Wha...oh crap!" Mike exclaimed swerving the cruiser out of the way just in the nick of time but slamming the side of the cruiser into another wall.
"Oops" was all Mike could say as the cruiser continued through the ruins
"You really should pay attention as to where your driving" Luke said shaking his head

they continued thru the ruins with out any more attacks. it was getting later into the afternoon. off in the distance their was a large cloud of dust.
"any idea what that is?" Mike asked Luke
"no idea"
"well want to check it out?" Mike asked
"ya why not"
they traveled towards the clouds of dust but when they got closer they saw sand vehicles zooming down strips of pave road.
"racers" Mike said.
"lets go check it out" Luke said looking pretty confidant
"seriously? ok lets go then!" Mike said speeding over to the race sight.

That sure is a lot of racers Luke thought as they got closer. All of them were either trying to impress the girls with how "awesome" they could drive, or how "awesome" their ride looked. It was a pretty pathetic sight in Luke's mind. Finally one them noticed them approaching and walked closer to them.
"Stop, who goes there? You are entering Johnny's territory now" said the man
"Johnny?" asked Luke
"Never heard of him" said Mike
"You guys are racers right?" they asked
"Duh, what else does it look like we're doing out here?"
"The only way you can pass through Johnny's territory is by beating him in a race"
"A race, huh" said Mike scratching his chin
"Think you can beat him?" asked Luke
"Think, I know I can" said Mike triumphantly
The man smirked "You amateur, you actually think you can beat Johnny, I can wait to see him leave you in the dust" "Just for that I'm going to set this race up right away" he said before leaving to find Johnny
I wonder what he looks like thought Luke

a large sound suddenly erupted from behind some of the other cursers and a curser with a huge engine burned out from behind the others. it had a blue stripe down the side.
"who's the wimp that’s going to take on ME?" Johnny said opening the latch from his ride.
"that would be us" Mike said with his arms crossed.
"what the hell is that thing?" Johnny said trying not to laugh at the ride
"don’t worry what it is, just worry about not being able to keep up." Mike said
"no way." one of the grunts said "Johnny could take your piece of junk any day!"
"well lets do it then!" Mike said.
"what’s on the line?" Johnny asked.
"hum...didn’t think of that."

"Fine, since it looks like you don't have much money then we'll just have to bet our rides then, sound fair enough?"
Luke gulped. The cruiser? If they lost that they were screwed. It takes so much more time to cross this place on foot than in a cruiser.
"Fine its a deal then" Mike said
Luke looked at him questioningly. He wasn't going to say anything cuz he knew that betting the cruiser was the only way to get through here. All the more reason to win.
"Do you want me to wait here?" asked Luke
"No, you can stay in the cruiser cuz I want you to be my eyes"
"You mean you want me to watch if he tries anything dirty" said Luke
"Exactly, we don't know what to expect with guys like these"
"Alright lets get ready!" shouted Johnny as he got the cruiser into place for the race
"You sure you want to bet your ride boss?" asked one of his men
"Does it look like I'll lose? Hell no. I've got a full proof plan to win this thing" replied Johnny
Soon the race was ready. All that was left was the countdown to get them started.
One of the men stepped between the 2 cruisers and put one hand up.
"OK, we start in 5

The racer in Johnny was in burned out and took of while Mikes ride flew past the starting line.
"whoa man!" said Luke as they zoomed past Johnny
"ok tell me what’s going on behind me Luke!" Mike said looking straight at the road in front of him.
"well he’s catching up...and fast." Luke said
"damn...ok" Mike said as they started to go even faster.
"where pulling way." Luke said laughing
"great lets keep it that way."

Luke saw Johnny start to get smaller and for a moment he thought it was too good to be true. That is until a rocket came out of the side of Johnny's cruiser. Oh crap things are going to get ugly.
"Dodge left!" shouted Luke
The cruiser swerved to the left just as the rocket hit where they were.
"What the hell was that!?" screamed Mike
"Hes shooting rockets at us" exclaimed Luke
"I just had to ask"
Luke looked back in time to see that this time Johnny had shot 2 rockets at them. Please Johnny, I'm not only his eyes you know.
"Dodge right!" Luke shouted as they barely missed one of the rockets.
The other one was about to hit them when Luke used his psychic power to divert the rocket away.
"We can't keep this up forever you know" shouted Luke

"damn rockets!" Mike said as he started to swerve.
"man we need to keep control!" Luke said.
"well its not easy...damn it!" said Mike as he noticed he started to turn too much.
"crap we are going to spin out!" Mike said to Luke
"hold on tight!" Mike commanded as the cruiser started to spin out of control.
"losers!" Johnny said as he passed the turned around cruiser.
"oh crap...we better start walking now..." mike said putting his head on the handles

"Gimme your ride runt" Johnny grunted with glee as soon as they arrived at the finish line.
Luke wanted to scream out what a cheater he was but knew it wouldn't make much of a difference since he basically makes the rules around here.
"Take it then" Mike said as they got off
"Can I have it boss" asked the man that set up the race
"Sure go ahead, I have no need for that piece of crap"
"Alright!" the man got on and found he couldn't start it or make it work in any way.
"Aww, this things a piece of junk, it doesn't even work anymore" "Guess I'll sell it" he said as he got the cruiser ready to be dragged away by another one.
These idiots don't know that the cruiser only responds to psychic energy. All the more to get it back. Luke pondered that last thought. All the more to get it back...
Hell yah they were going to get it back. Its Mike's personal cruiser and they cheated. Just those thoughts made Luke's blood boil. Not only was he getting it back he was going to give them hell too.
"Come on" Luke said walking in the direction the racers left in.
"Where are we going?" asked Mike almost sad sounding
"To get your cruiser back"

"We'll have to take them by surprise tonight while they sleep. They won't expect something like this so soon and it won't give them time to sell your cruiser. While they sleep I want your to use your power to find anything of value and take it, after get to your cruiser and prepare for a getaway. Meanwhile I'm going to rig all their cruisers to go haywire and malfunction. I'm also going to rig any other explosives they have to detonate so it'll confuse the living daylights out of them. Pick me up on your cruiser and we'll jam out of there."
