Eve smiled a little - the child was quicker of thought than she had expected. "I could still get out of here," she replied. "And I will let you out, Shoma. Just a moment." Stepping lightly towards the kitched door, she listened carefully - not a lot of sound passed through from the noisy kitched, and she could assume the sound barrier worked in the opposite direction. They were safe for a little bit of noise.
Kneeling at Shoma's feet to warm the ice, Eve was aware of how ridiculous they looked. Ironic. To make up for it, she let a little of the flames touch his well-made brown boots. Their eyes met and Eve studied hi, her own eyes neutral.
Finished, she got to her feet, still watching him. Replacing one glove, she offered him her other hand to help him up.

Shoma took the hand of the thief and got up. "you didn’t need to do that" Shoma said blushing a little bit. "well I don’t want to be around for that big guy... how's this, if you promise to give me back my dads pyramid i wont tell the cops on you. deal?" asked Shoma "and what’s your name anyways?" he asked as they walked over to the wall.

Giving Shoma a quick boost up the high wall and instructing him where to keep his feet as he climbed the three metre wall, she absently replied, "My name is Eve, and I don't have your pyramid."
Oh, crap. In one sentence, she'd revealed her identity (partly) when he'd threatened her with the authorities, and worse, lost her only chance at negotiation. Jorino would have killed her.
Trying to redeem herself slightly, she continued, "Which isn't enough of a lead for the investigators, really - believe me, I know." She climbed up and leapt to sit on top of the wall easily, facing Shoma, who looked like, perhaps, he believed her on that one. It had been an honest enough admission.
"It won't help them, Shoma," Eve repeated. "I don't have it, so the deal is not a deal. Null." A moment later, she realised that she was talking to him like she would a ten-year-old - which she wouldn't have appreciated - and then was shocked to find herself actually caring.
Turning away, Eve leapt down off the wall onto the empty alley below, and began to walk away.

"oh great. now what the heck am I suppose to do? i cant go home empty handed. i wanted to get that pyramid back for my dad so things would be good at my house...and so I can show him I’m not worthless..." Shoma said to himself starting to cry at the end of it all.
really this was his worst day ever. he hopped down from the wall and started to walk in the opposite direction of Eve. as he continued he didn’t even realize that he had blasted the wall besides him with flames. the wall was scorched and burring but now Shoma was week. and after wobbling for a few more steps he fainted...again.

Heading back to the safe house she shared with friends, Eve spun as she heard the cracking of stone and a whoosh! behind her. The vines on the courtyard wall were on fire - and Shoma was collapsed on the ground not far away.
Not far away, but far enough. The flames wouldn't spread too far - and if they did, not in that direction. Eve turned and continued to walk away. She had no obligation to help him, and he didn't need help anyway. None of her business.
