"No, but it does distract people, and makes them waste ammunition." He smirked. "I can stop a bullet in time to get away before it hits me too." Jayson sighed and looked down at his feet. "Fairy couldn't get away." He whispered, not intending for her to hear, but loud enough that she could anyways.

"Fairy?" Lune mumbled. Just what was this guy hiding in his past? What couldn't Fairy get away from? A bullet? "Solomon..." Lune started, shokcing even herself. "Solomon didn't even try...stupid idiot! He didn't even try to save himself. He was noble like that, you know?"

"Fairy couldn't, all she could do was fly and we were surrounded. I told my brother not to, but he- he shot her!" Tears flowed freely down his face. He had never even told her friends how she had died and here he was telling a girl he had just met. How had they gotten on this topic anyways?

Lune put a sympathetic hand on his shoulder."I'd lie and tell you it gets easier, but it's not true. Solomon died months ago, but the pain still feels fresh." She sighed as she thought of her old lover. She missed him so badly. "But I know he'd want me to move on." Yes, he definitely would. He'd died to save her, so she had to stay alive so his death would never be in vain. She sighed and chuckled a bit, albeit bitterly. "Since we're both angsting, whaddaya say we go check out that ice cream shop over there? I could use a chocolate fix."

'Chocolate? I've not had that stuff since before I first went to Earth!' His eyes flashed eagerly and he grinned with anticipation. "Me too, I haven't had any for the longest time."

Lune smiled at her new friend and led the way to the ice cream shop. She'd noticed the place marked on her map and had been eager to stop by. She'd only had ice cream a few times in her life, since things like that were hard to come by on Earth, but she'd had enough to know she really liked it.
She was glad that Jayson was warming up to her a bit. She'd never had any friends outside her group on Earth, and that was purely out of necessity. People survived longer in teams, it was a simple fact. But now there were thousand (thousands!) of psychics she could converse with, and they had no real need to hang around her. It was nice to know she could make friends without the threat of death hanging over their heads.

Jayson ordered their ice cream for them and the woman entered their purchases into the computer. He didn't sigh the releif he felt, the woman hadn't recognized him. However, he was also glad that Lune wasn't set against him like most psychics. She was probably the first friend he could be true to.
