Zeta cursed at the fact that Sven had seen him and dropped out of the mirrored surface. He darted over to him, warily watching the openings to the room. He grabbed the cuff of his right sleeve and yanked on it, pulling the sleeve off. He ignored the burn on his arm and instead attempted to tie the fabric around Sven's wound. He'd turned the cloth inside out first, it was cleaner on the inside.
"We need to leave and soon. I don't know how long it'll take the others to realize I came back here." His voice had dropped to a low growl, subconsciously taking in that Sven both knew what normal Blockers looked like and that these ones weren't the norm. He would deal with that later.
"At least if they don't have coms they cannot contact each other and trap us."

"Mmm, thanks," he spoke in response to Zeta sacrificing a piece of his clothing to secure his wounded shoulder. But he spoke a bit quietly so as to not cut the other off while he talked. "So you didn't finish the others off?" he asked, a bit rhetorically since Frost had already answered the question before it was asked.
After his shoulder was given proper pressure, Sven switched which hand was holding the weapon again and voiced another question. "Is it comforting to know that by now someone else in the city should be close enough to the area?" It was somewhat of a comment as well, but mostly he really didn't know how friendly psychics were to each other. Sure Frost had proven reliable and trustworthy, but he wouldn't exactly call him a friend as they had only known each other for a few minutes and the situation called for teamwork.
With that said he began a brisk walk, weaving around the larger bits of debris, heading back the direction they had originally come from. He only took a few moments to see if Frost was following, as he bet Zeta wouldn't want to stick around.

Zeta was practically on his heels as he followed Sven through the rubble. He ignored the rhetorical question and sneered at the second one.
"No. And it is not advisable to tell people what other psychics can do." His eyes narrowed. "You may find yourself hunted by those more vengeful than others." It was a thinly veiled threat and a warning. Sven trusted too easily and Zeta wasn't sure he wouldn't just drop him off in Central to fend for himself.
He slid past Sven into the lead, absently rubbing the skin under his burn. He decided it was worth the risk to cool the wound in order to remove some of the sting. The rain wasn't leaking through the ceiling as much the farther away the got from the attack site.

A frown dominated his expression while he considered Zeta's words. He was already being hunted by Blockers, though psychics were probably more of a worry taking into consideration their vast range of abilities. The train of thought brought him to a sudden halt. "Their machine. That transporter," Sven blurted out, his frown morphing into one of intense thought.
Frost didn't seem like the kind of person who really cared to finish off the not-blockers or steal their technology when available. A pro for that side was that apparently the transporting device was broke with their appearance, and Sven had no idea how to fix their technology so it wouldn't be much use. Unless of course the remaining enemies somehow made it out of Metropolis to recon. Obviously neither choice was preferable.
"We should snatch it." He paused, already knowing the reply he was going to get. "Would be a shame if this was just the beginning and we're unprepared," added Sven, deciding to hear the answer anyway.

Zeta slowed to a stop and closed his eyes in frustration, counting to five in his head before opening them again. "I'll listen if you have some sort of plan," he managed to grind out.
He had gone in to eliminate a threat in the first place. Sven was right in the long run, but they were both injured and it was raining where the device was probably located. He didn't want to go back, he valued his survival over that of others, but something was telling him that his survival would end up needing those 'others'.

"Actually I was more hoping you could just do that appearing through solid objects thing once we figure out which of them has it. Or better yet if they threw it to the ground since it apparently doesn't work now," Sven stated, oblivious to the limitation of Zeta's ability. Usually he would have made some motion with his hands, but since his left was injured and the other was carrying a gun he made no gestures for safety reasons.
"Did you notice any of yours carrying anything that seemed could be it?" he questioned then half turned and started looking around for other possible paths back to the small group of enemies left. It couldn't be much longer before at least one other psychic showed up, and since Frost made it quite clear that wasn't a good thing they would need to get this over with fast and with little traffic. It probably didn't help that he was also holding a standard Blocker weapon.
Taking his last thought into account Sven took a moment to inspect the blaster in his hand and locate the net setting. If a psychic did show up and deem him an enemy the last thing he'd want is to shoot them and cause a ripple effect in the city of psychics.

"It wasn't solid," he snapped. He didn't even like that Sven knew that much. "And it's harder than it looked."
He hadn't missed the other psychic's familiarity with the weapon and how to use it and he was beginning to have a few suspicions. If they did come across and gain possession of the device, he would be the one to carry it, not Sven. He could even claim it using his injuries as an excuse.
"I didn't see it, but I was a bit preoccupied with staying free of extra unwanted holes." He turned back the way they had come from. "If they think we're coming back at all, they won't expect us to return the way we left."

The frown in response to Frost's verbal retaliation was brief while Sven thought. He was willing to accept the snap was due to the situation and the fact Zeta probably didn't want to return to the sight of the not-Blockers.
A short laugh escaped him as he half turned around moments after Frost did. "But the holes give character," the psychic replied sarcastically, moving his left arm across his stomach sending a string of pain from his shoulder. "I'd like to think they discarded it since it was broken but... I bet it was their only way home." Sven paused to look at Frost momentarily. "I'll cover you?" he questioned before moving back the way they came, keeping an eye out for where the acid rain started.

Zeta didn't say anything as he increased his pace, moving closer to the edge of the building. He pulled out a small vial and tossed it lightly in his hand as he went in order to get a feel for how it would throw. He wanted to be able to throw it without thinking if he was startled.
He didn't want to think about who those people were, if they weren't Blockers. He was highly tempted to simply leave the problem to Sven, but he quashed that when Sven offered to watch his back. Reminding himself that he disliked anyone having power over him, he focused on his new objective and attempted to expand his senses to find out if there was anyone around them.
Zeta pulled up short and, grabbing Sven to pull him along, ducked into a convenient alcove in the wall. He pointed up sharply and stared at the edge of the overhang. They were lucky he had chosen to scan at that moment.
It seemed they had found what they were looking for.

The detour was unexpected but luckily Zeta was nicer on the pull aside than he could have been making it possible for Sven to manage not to trip over his own feet or set off the blaster. Following the indication by Frost, the psychic spotted the device.
It was a curious piece of technology but just like the not-Blockers had spoken before it was obviously damaged. Scorch marks were present around a dead bulb and the frame look ajar in places as it moved with the motion of the person it was attached to. Indeed it was lucky Frost had been paying attention, otherwise Sven might have had another hole to worry about. To add to their good fortune it didn't seem like the scanning not-Blocker had noticed the two, which meant they could easily surprise the guy if they could find a way up without letting him notice.
The alcove didn't have another way out to the street, but there did appear to be a door. 'Perhaps that's how he got up there,' he thought to himself.
It didn't seem like any other enemies were in the immediate area, as sounds from further into the acid rain fall indicated some sort of confrontation. A moment later the person above them disappeared from sight, their footsteps giving away their position. Sven made an indication toward the door deeper in the cove.

Zeta tried the door only to discover it was locked. He knelt in order to take a closer look and it was only a few moments before it clicked open. He crept in, looked around and straightened. "It's a hotel," he breathed.
He motioned Sven in and locked the door behind them. The building looked intact and it was the kind of find that was to be hoarded for as long as possible and explored in depth to find all the good stuff first. It didn't even look gutted.
They had gone in a side door, attached to a galley kitchen and he wondered briefly how the man he had spotted had gotten up on the balcony.
He took the stairs two at a time and slunk along to peer out the window. Seeing nothing he tapped on the glass only to find out it was of the bullet-proof variety. He quickly darted back to the overhang next to the stairs.
"This place is a fortress! Or a safehouse or something!"
