"all personal shall be seen in the HQ at 100 hours. have a nice day." said a woman over the PA system.
"again?...well no mater...hay you! did you pass the check back in the last hall?" Jake told a scientist that happened to pass by, he had blue hair.

The man turned around, thrown.
"Well, obviously I passed," replied the scientist, after a slight pause, more than slightly surprised at such a random approach. He quickly took in the sight of this man dressed in the drab security uniform, noting the few bars on his shoulder. Low rank.
He brushed the dangling tendrils of his fringe from his eyes in slight irritation - there was a new virus waiting in the lab, according to the reception girl, and he was eager to examine it, now- but schooled his face to a blank expression. If he was patient and acted accordingly, surely he could return to this virus more quickly.
"If I hadn't, why would I still be here?" he continued. "I would have been taken away, wouldn't I?"

this kind of struck back Jake... he didn’t know what exactly to think "well...yes I suppose so...um just move along." Jake said feeling defeated.

Hendin blinked, used to dealing with guards who fought with their brains for several minutes before firing what was supposed to be a witty response at him. He recalled his words; his tone might have been sharper than necessary. More than likely, he thought wryly.
The guard couldn't have been more than a year older than him, if that. Different once again - far younger than the tough, stringy old sentinels usually seen around the Blocker headquarters.
There was no time for this, though. Viruses beckoned, ready for investigation, and the holographic-projection telecommunications device on his wrist vibrated urgently.
"I'm sorry," he said simply, and turned around, disappearing into the masses leaving the hall.

"I’m sorry..." hearing that totally threw off Jake "you know that’s the first time that anyone’s told me anything like that scene iv been hear. Most people don’t even talk to me…thanks man.” Jake told the scientist

Hendin turned around again, surprised by this guard once more.
"What? Oh, no problem! Any time." The scientist smiled - genuinely this time. "No, I can't imagine a lot of the people around here treating security guards with a lot of respect, especially the ones whose badges say they have rank. They're always a bit disdainful to their equals and lessers - but you should see them sucking up to the head honchos," he chuckled; "it's quite amusing. Respect, indeed. At least the boss can keep a straight face." The corners of his coffe-coloured eyes scrunched upwards.

after the scientist left little happened afterwards. not much to speak of anyways. at some point of the long day Jake went on his break. after he got a lunch ticket he went over to obtain his rations. not to much to chouse from. "how about some Beef Stew?" asked the Machine that handed out lunch orders. "no ill have a Cheese Burger." Jake said "one Cheese Burger...have a nice day" said the machine giving birth to a steaming hot Cheese Burger. Jake took the tray over to a table to start to eat when he noticed that the scientist from earlier had just entered the room.

(OOC: Buahaha, I have a laptop. But my dad's online, so if I go on MSN, I'm royally screwed...)
Hendin had had a productive morning. After spending an hour in combat with - and successfully breaking down a particularly stubborn virus (which had an ego equal to that of his superior Dr Jamin Kuille), Alec had been rather amused upon finding that Kuille had actually wasted several hours in his endless quest to prove he was worth his title. And before that, there'd been that quick (meaningless?) conversation with the security guard this morning. Interesting.
Unusually pleased with himself, Hendin sauntered into the mess hall without a care, his hair tied back loosely and his glasses in his pocket. His mood remained undampened by the lunch machine's gloomy suggestion of beef stew.
A moment later, he dropped into a seat beside the redhead he run into earlier that morning, ignoring a few raised eyebrows around them.
"I don't think I ever introduced myself, did I." It was more of a statement than a question. He dug his fork into the beef without relish. "Alec Hendin."

Jayson walked into the mess hall and sighed at the crowds. He gathered his meal, ceaser salad - just cause he cared about his health - and stood there, looking for a place to sit. His usual table was occupied and there were other groups at most of the other ones.
Normally he would have sat with his friends, but they seemed to understand that he needed some time away from them. Someone bumped into him and nearly spilt his drink, but he used what little psychic power he wasn't supposed to have to halt it and set it up safely without spilling. He hoped no one had seen or suspected anything.

Hendin looked away from the plate in front of him to glance at a tall brunet standing nearby, with an anxious, rather guilty expression. Alone - unusual for someone of his age. He seemed to be looking for someone - or somewhere to sit - his dark eyes sweeping the hall as he clutched a tray of food.
The scientist dropped his eyes when the teen looked at him, returning to the (very unappealing) beef stew.
"And what did you say your name was?" he enquired of the man beside him, continuing the so-far one-sided conversation.

Jayson gave up looking for a seat and walked over to Jake and Alec. "Is this seat free? And if is, may I sit here?" He inquired rather nervously, he was still shaken over his episode with his drink.

The scientist smiled at the younger man, indicating the seat opposite to his own with a nod as he replied to Jake's question.
"I'm a scientist," he said easily. "I work on what my superiors tell me to - you know, new viruses and dieseases that could endanger Blockers here; studying and experimenting with psychics; developing ways to attack them, physically and through their minds if we can." He smiled coolly. "And a few things besides what the bosses say."

Jayson was immediatly caught up in their conversation and sat down where he indicated. "Would you experiment on a psychic if you could get a hold of one? One that you had under your control?" He held nothing but curiousity in his voice, but his fist was clenched under the table. His other hand was gripping his fork hard as he took a few bites of his food.

Frowning, Hendin murmured politely, "I prefer 'experimenting with' rather than 'experimenting on.' And please don't say, 'If you could get ahold of one'." He grimaced. "It makes it sound as if a psychic is a pile of platinum I'd want to get my hands on, or just a guinea pig. It's not like we're - well, maybe some of my team might be edging towards being called mad scientists..." He smirked.
"But....well, the Blocker orders for psychics aren't very humane, I'm sure you know." He didn't bother to drop his voice, despite the several commanders nearby. "Science, I'm sure you realise, has lovely potential to become very gory."
Alec almost smiled. "And what do you mean, under my control? Surely for someone so interested you would know that psychics are difficult to subdue, except for doing so physically, and sometimes even that doesn't work."

Jayson nodded. "With sounds better. And I mean if you had one that would co-operate, wouldn't attack you, wouldn't try to escape." He unclenched his hand under the table, but clenched it again. "Do you think it's possible to be human and then become a psychic?" He was curious, if it wasn't possible, then his brother would be a psychic. Now wouldn't that be ironic.

Contemplating the idea for a moment, Hendin nodded slowly. "I don't see why not. After all, psychics are humans, in a way. They were humans; they evolved so fast.... I suppose that if a human were to be exposed to the circumstances the Earth-people were - you know, the acid rain, the poisonous atmosphere with no sun," he wondered, "There would be no reason why a human couldn't become a psychic, if he took the brunt of such an environment for so long...."
Alec paused. "Or I guess a human could be artificially evolved..."

Jayson sighed slightly with releif, there was a reason after all. "What would you do if you suddenly found out that you were a psychic?" He paused. "You didn't answer my first question, would you experiment with a psychic?"

"Sure I would. It's my job. Besides, it's interesting." He smiled genuinely, getting caught up. "It's been done before in my team, we've all done that...There's so many layers you can dive into, so many new things to try because nobody knows what's going to happen..."
Alec frowned himself away from his passionate speech. Leaning forwards, he rested his head on his arched fingertips, staring intently at the man opposite him. "Why are you so interested?" he demanded frankly. "All these questions...you seem involved. It's not just mere curiosity, is it." It wasn't a question. "And I don't think you've even introduced yourself."

Jayson smiled nervously."I haven't? I'm sorry, I'm Jayson." He looked down at his clear plate. Standing he picked it up. "I have to go." Alec's statement was too true. "We're all involved. Isn't that why we're Blockers?" He started walking away, depositing his plate and glass as he went.
(OOC: No clue, haven't got a single clue. lol)
